101 things in 1,001 days...

i realized that one of the things that i lost during the hacking was this list. i enjoy the challenge of it, so here it is again, per Sir's orders. Things that are completed or are underway are listed in Bold type.

The Mission:
Complete 101 preset tasks in a period of 1001 days.

The Criteria:
Tasks must be specific (ie. no ambiguity in the wording) with a result that is either measurable or clearly defined. Tasks must also be realistic and stretching (ie. represent some amount of work on my part).

Why 1001 Days?
Many people have created lists in the past - frequently simple goals such as new year's resolutions. The key to beating procrastination is to set a deadline that is realistic. 1001 Days (about 2.75 years) is a better period of time than a year, because it allows you several seasons to complete the tasks, which is better for organizing and timing some tasks such as overseas trips or outdoor activities.

i have pretty much decided that *most* of this list is ridiculously stupid and innane and i am about to abandon it.

It was supposed to be a way for me to stretch myself and do things that i'd never do other wise. It's just not working out that way.

i'll see how i feel about it in the weeks to come but i'm pretty sure this list is going bye bye.

I just happened upon your list, and I like it.

I had a list of 25 things to do before I die. I had completed about 5 of them. So then I made 5 more.

I wonder if you take a look at your list and re-define it, like a new list of 101 things (including some of the old ones that were not completed) if you might feel better about it.

In general, I like the idea of longterm goals...and I really like your idea of 1001 days instead of something like "before I die" which who knows how long that is or new year's resolutions which might be too short of a time frame. Thanks for the ideas!
