It's done

i swore i wouldn't post again today, but i wanted to let my faithful readers know that the deed is done. Mr. Basil Dogbone left this world at around 7:30 pm. Held safely in our arms. i am happy to report that he was as high as a kite and it was such a relief to see him feeling no more pain for a few minutes as we waited for the tranquilizer to set in before we administered the "final shot".

It's a blessing to be able to send him on his way in peace. i got to see Sir weep, a very rare thing. i told Him that i loved Him more because He was able to cry with me.

Taybor keeps looking around the house for his big brother.

The house is too quiet.

I just happened upon your blog. I hate to hear you had to put down your companion. When I was married we had a Boston terrier and he had to have major surgery. I remember fretting over him as if he was a child wondering if he would be okay. I hope the pain of loss lessens soon and only the good memories remain. Take care and I enjoyed reading a glimpse into your life.

sb,
what can i say? i can hardly think to type, let alone see through the tears, and i only new him for such a short time in comparison to you and SL. i am sooo sorry for SL's and your loss! Baz was a prince and i felt good with him from the first moment i was allowed to come to HSL. i know you and SL need the time and space to circle the wagons and deal with all of this. i'm just so sad for all of us, however the choice was brave and right. Baz will be waiting to see you and SL in a better, uncensored place. WOOF HSL!

Thank you Jonathon and sbc for your kind thoughts. i've actually been able to laugh about some of the crazy things Baz did as a pup. (like getting in to a 5 lb box of miracle grow and a 5 lb bag of flour on the same night. There was flour on the ceiling!)Taybor is a blessed distraction in these times. He's sucha clown!
